
The roots of the Notting Hill Carnival are the Caribbean carnivals of the early 19th century which were all about celebrating the abolition of slavery and the slave trade.
In London originated in 1964 Starting its life as a local festival set up by the West Indian community of the Notting Hill area, it has now become a full-blooded Caribbean carnival which taking place every August Bank Holiday weekend in the streets of Notting Hill.

On Bank Holiday Monday, the main parade takes place and streets of Notting Hill becomes owercrowded by paarty-dancing people
One more thing that ought to be mentioned -There's nothing quite like the smell of Notting Hill Carnival. Hundreds of stalls at the streets of Notting Hill serving the best Caribbean specs like patties,curries, jerk chickens..

.. and all of those smells are inwroughted by massive arome from thousands and thousands Marijuana spliffs and beer&white rum "cloudlets" from everywhere. So with the upcoming evening people started to be completely crazy or a bit "tired".. ;)

After 19:00pm, the floats leave the streets in procession, and people carry continue partying at the many Notting Hill Carnival after parties.
